When I saw this bouquet I immediately thought of the artist Joan Mitchell. She is one of my favorite abstract expressionists and always seems to insert just the right amount of color to her paintings. The texture of her mark making is also a really nice comparison to the variety of textures in the flowers.
I may run out this afternoon to pick up a fun arrangement to help me get through this rainy day (and the rest of the week). 
The art looks a little sad to sad to me, like the flowers were in a vase & thrown against a wall. Am I getting too deep!?!
