Seems like an appropriate reminder …
There has been a great deal of chatter around the new, booming video app Vine. If you’re not in the loop (no pun intended), the app allows you to record little 6 second videos with ease and then uploads them to your feed to share with your followers. Since when did Instagram not become enough of a snippet into someone else’s life? Do we now really need video access too?
Just. Seems. A. Bit. Weird. Creepy.
Trust me, I understand that creative industries are moving in the direction of video and as a highly visual person I’m a religious user of Instagram, but do we really need another social media platform. I barely have time to blog, email, tweet, facebook, update, comment, pin, instagram, and run a business … Who has the time (or desire) to become a part of another social media platform?
At the same time, this app allows entrepreneurs and bloggers the ability to show their brand/product/story in a new dimension. Purely for this reason I’ve decided to join. Also, in this industry if you’re not active on social media … you’re left behind. My intention is to use it sparingly for updates (and occasional sneak peeks) of what’s going on with Colour Bloc, but not the way I use other platforms. I may record a few favorite pieces from a museum exhibit or inspiring architecture in a fascinating city, but don’t expect daily video clips of a mundane Tuesday. ![]()
Join me through video, if you’d like, @colourbloc.

I am totally with you on this, A! It’s overwhelming enough already to have the amount of social media, to only add another. I’m planning on using it for the same thing – little snippets and interesting things, but not everyday details (I’ll stick to instagram.. my first love
)
XO
I joined too but I am not sure I like it. I seriously get dizzy watching the videos!
